USDOT Hazardous Materials Transportation -Shipper Requirements

This course is designed to meet the general awareness, familiarization, safety, security awareness and applicable function-specific training requirements of the USDOT Hazardous Materials Regulations, 49 CFR Part 172, Subpart H for shippers (offers). The course is intended for mangers, supervisors, and other “hazmat employees” who are responsible for functions that have a direct impact on the safe transportation of hazardous materials by highway and rail, to include hazardous material identification, recognition/selection of proper shipping descriptions, selection of authorized non-bulk and bulk packaging, marking, labeling/placarding of containers, completion of shipping documents and emergency response information, loading/unloading, vehicle placarding; hazardous materials incident response and reporting, and record keeping.

The duration of this seminar is eight (8) hours. Per the USDOT, recurrent training for “hazmat employees” must be completed at least every three (3) years. Compliance requirements for Explosives (Class 1) and Radioactive Materials (Class 7) are not included in this training program.

IATA Dangerous Goods Training

This course is designed to meet the function-specific training requirements of the USDOT Hazardous Materials Regulations (49 CFR Part 172 Subpart H) for shippers who offer “dangerous goods” for air transport using air carriers who subscribe to the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, such as Federal Express and DHL. The course is intended for mangers, supervisors, and other “hazmat employees” who are responsible for functions that have a direct impact on the safe transportation of “dangerous goods” by air transport, to include classification, identification, understanding of variations and limitations packing, marking and labeling, and documentation. The course also offers a discussion of security awareness. The duration of this seminar is eight (8) hours. Compliance requirements for air shipment of Explosives (Class 1) and Radioactive Materials (Class 7) are not included in this training program.

Advanced RCRA Workshop For Generators – 2 Day

This advanced workshop is presented over 2 consecutive days, and provides attendees such as managers and supervisors with more detail into the regulatory compliance requirements for generators of RCRA hazardous waste, including but not limited to solid waste identification, hazardous waste characterization, solid waste/hazardous waste exceptions and exclusions, used oil and universal waste management, management standards for accumulation and storage of hazardous waste in containers and tanks, control of air emissions (Subparts AA, BB, CC), land disposal restrictions (LDR), and the Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest. The total duration of this workshop is 16 hours.
Workshops start promptly each day at 8:00am and conclude at 4:30pm

Advanced USDOT Workshop

This advanced workshop is provided over 2 consecutive days, and provides attendees such as managers and supervisors with more regulatory compliance detail with regard to the USDOT Hazardous Materials Regulations requirements for shippers (offerors) by highway and rail. Topics that will be discussed in more detail include, but a re not limited to, hazard class/division definitions, use of the Hazardous Materials Table, selection of proper shipping descriptions, shipping description modifications, regulation of hazardous substances, selection of authorized non-bulk and bulk packaging, marking, labeling/placarding of containers, completion of shipping documents and emergency response information, vehicle placarding; and hazardous materials incident response and reporting, and record keeping.
The total duration of this workshop is 16 hours. Compliance requirements for Explosives (Class 1) and Radioactive Materials (Class 7) are not included in this training program.

IMDG Dangerous Goods Training

The International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code was developed as a uniform international code for the transport of dangerous goods by sea covering such matters as packing, container traffic and stowage, with particular reference to the segregation of incompatible substances.

This course is designed to meet the function-specific training requirements of the USDOT Hazardous Materials Regulations (49 CFR Part 172 Subpart H) for shippers who offer “dangerous goods” for transport by sea in accordance with the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code. The course is intended for mangers, supervisors, and other “hazmat employees” who are responsible for functions that have a direct impact on the safe transportation of “dangerous goods” by sea, to include classification, identification, packing, marking and labeling, and documentation. The course also offers a discussion of security awareness. The duration of this seminar is eight (8) hours. Compliance requirements for air shipment of Explosives (Class 1) and Radioactive Materials (Class 7) are not included in this training program.
