Hiring Standards

HazMat Environmental Group, Inc. requires all driver applicants to complete an application for employment and at a minimum:

  • Be at least 23 years of age
  • Possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
  • Have Hazmat & Tank Endorsements
  • OTR verifiable experience operating the class and type of vehicle he/she is to drive:
    • 1 year for waste board (Van/Tanker)
    • 2 years required for product board (Tanker)
  • Provide 10-years employment history
  • Be able to get Credentials to enter Canada and/or to register for a TWIC card
  • No facial hair to interfere with respirator seal
  • No DUI or DWI convictions in previous 10 years
  • No more than 1 preventable accident in previous 5 years (subject for review)
  • Maximum of 2 moving violations and no serious violations within 3 years (As defined by FMCSA 383.51)

Once a contingent offer has been made by HazMat Environmental Group, the following reports & tests will be conducted & reviewed:

  • Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
  • Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP Report)
  • Criminal background check
  • FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse – Full Query
  • Road test by company official
  • Pre-Employment DOT physical and DOT drug test
  • Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) to determine respirator clearance (if required for position)
